October 23 at 9:02pm · 2 Lauren Buckley I was just wondering if their's guidelines to how much dolphins and whales you can fish, to make sure there's no potential endangerment to the species? October 28 at 3:22pm Yamamoto San There are quotas set by for Taiji, as well as whaling quotas. Often they only catch 50% of the quota. October 28 at 5:50pm · 2 Kelly Kerr Boooooo on Taiji!!!!! October 28 at 11:46pm Troy Coyle There are quotas set but they are not based on any science. As the world now knows, the Japanese Institute for Cetacean Research is not a well respected research institution within the scientific community. October 28 at 11:51pm · Edited Yamamoto San @Troy Coyle - and you expect the world to respect Sea Shepherd assessment that every marine mammals is endangered and cries of extinction? October 29 at 2:40am · 4 Covie Monitor Project (CMT) October 30 at 6:25am · Edited · 4 Kenji Takemura Real scientists honor and respect the Institute for Cetacean Research although they know ICR kills for research purpose while pseudo scientists and mere naturalists don't. October 30 at 8:04am · 2 Lauren Buckley Covie Monitor project, when you refer to us as "dolphin freaks" or "terrorists" in your other posts it's very ignorant. Because with out people like Sea Shepherd and The Dolphin Project ect , the world would truly go to shit, considering most governments including my own will do what ever they can to make money and they don't give a shit if a few species go extinct- obviously we can see that within Japan I personally love meat. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but I don't eat something when I know it's wrong, I'm not a dolphin freak, I'm just an asshole who believes treating our only planet with respect. Before you tell me that Sea Shepherd makes up tragic sad stories and lies I'm going to tell you I will never believe you, seriously...who do think I'm going to believe? The people trying to save oceans and species or something ran by the government to whale endangered species just to make some money. The saddest lie I've ever heard is that they edit the LIVESTREAMS to make it something it's not..like really, why would they be wasting their time on editing something like that if it wasn't really true.? As I've said before, eating Dolphins isn't okay, if it truly was okay don't you think it would be legal in more than just 3 places. #timetostopthetradition October 30 at 8:49am Troy Coyle Kenji- that is a very strange thing to say. If you were a scientist, you would not have said it. October 30 at 10:28am Emmanuel Chanel Troy Coyle: Huh? Oh... I forgot that Sea Shepherd's way is to lie and to fabricate the facts. Paulus says so. So your "science" would be "science" in usual senses. Why do we have to care for your words? Could it be that your doctor degree is a fake, too? If not a fake, your doctor degree is damaged by your lying behavior, heh. Isn't it better for you to show your doctors degree since people of the world are troubled with your anti-scientific behavior. October 30 at 4:36pm · 2 Kenji Takemura Troy, yes I am a scientist having master degree in Computer Science. This is the reason why I can pin point mumbo jumbo Sea Shepherd lies. Any science is based on facts and hypotheses which can be tested and proven by experiments and data. Pseudo scientists and voodoo magicians are based on "hearsay" and emotion. October 31 at 4:24am · Edited · 1 Covie Monitor Project Troy Coyle: What is the title of your Doctoral thesis? (CMT) October 31 at 5:12am · 2 Emmanuel Chanel Troy Coyle: (* I repost the fixed text since I found serious mistakes. All would know what I tried to write last time, though.) Huh? Oh... I forgot that Sea Shepherd's way is to lie and to fabricate the facts. Paulus says so. So your "science" would NOT be "science" in usual senses. Why do we have to care for your words? Could it be that your doctor degree is a fake, too? If not a fake, your doctor degree is damaged by your lying behavior, heh. Isn't it better for you NOT to show your doctors degree since people of the world are troubled with your anti-scientific behavior? October 31 at 10:41am Troy Coyle Kenji- I know it is Japanese culture to respect Government positions. However, the ICR is not well regarded for its science outside of Japan. In fact, the ICJ stated that the scientific papers produced by the ICR from its "scientific" whaling was not sufficient. I can't point to a paper in any highly cited peer-reviewed publication of high quality... or even a Government science paper... that shows how the dolphin hunt quotas are set... can you? October 31 at 11:44am · Edited Troy Coyle Emmanuel- I find it interesting that your objective argument against my statement that ICR is not well respected within the scientific community is that I have a fake degree. Umm, what erudite statement of contradiction can one make against this claim?.... "My degree is not fake". However, I do not need to disparage your "computer science" degree or have to use my allegedly fake degree to know that your quotas are not based on thorough research... I just have to research the literature. If you want to contradict me, do the same- show us where the science is. Use your powers of research to contradict me with facts rather than insults. October 31 at 11:40am Troy Coyle Yamomato- I am speaking as Troy Coyle, not a representative of Sea Shepherd and I am referring to the views of the scientific community and the findings of the ICJ. October 31 at 11:45am · Edited Emmanuel Chanel Troy Coyle: Huh? When did I say that I'm a master of computer science? Usually, it's taken for just a mistake with mixing with Mr. Kenji Takemura. But as the fact that you are a Sea Shepherd, it's even very possible that you intentionally lie. Especially, Sea Mammals aka Albi Deak lies that I work for ICR when I exposed his lie about morbillivirus.(Some time after, Sea Shepherd deleted all their articles of morbillivirus.) It is seriously bad behavior of Sea Shepherd. To be honest, I don't say that I'm completely honest. But I got very surprised that I found that Sea Shepherd distorted even the facts of medical and veterinary science by the morbillivirus epidemic bullshit. (And he is one reason that I asked if your degree was fake. One says that it's too usual in Sea Shepherd. So there is a good reason. And I wonder why you don't show the title of your doctoral thesis since it's a very simple way.) Probably, there are many groups with such a behavior in the world. But I wonder how many groups whose leader clearly advises to fabricate facts like that. In addition, cetaceans are their specialization of the SS activity. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm14945680 In the community of scientists, once you lied, you lost all the credibility, don't you? Many Japanese researchers say so about Obokata case. So usual Japanese people can learn that even without bachelor's degree in Japan. A professor of my university says that even mistakes are unforgiven in my fac. era. To be honest, such a rule is too strict for my life even in the society with the moral of honesty, though. But Paulus' advice to lie is too much more evil, isn't it? And there is a really significant example in such a way like above. Certainly I don't know what you have said well enough to prove how many times you, individual lied except my degree thing. But do I need to prove more? >Use your powers of research to contradict me with facts rather than insults. Oh, oh, you mean things like an attorney-at-law saying "objection! It's argumentum ad hominem!" in the court? But I know that Perry Mason answered that he was examining the credibility of the witness in an novel. (Oh, I forgot which case on the novel series. So I cannot quote.) It's you, yourselves that seriously damage the credibility of your testimonies. Or you testify a scientific norm on lies, different from what I showed? >If you want to contradict me, do the same- show us where the science is. Probably, many Japanese people would be interested also in the relation between Sea Shepherd's lying behavior and the credibility of your testimony. It can be a very interesting topic of what science is for usual people even if it goes far from the issue if our ICR's research is estimated among the real scientists. October 31 at 3:09pm
